We own a 50’s farmhouse and the bathroom was in desperate need of a renovation, The team at R+M did an excellent job, starting with Rod’s thorough and quick response with great design idea’s, Jake was an efficient project manager adding his own design changes which worked a treat. Their team included Cam doing carpentry and tiling and Dougie doing the plumbing. They were always happy to help us and make adjustments so we could end up with the bathroom we wanted. All the R+M team were very flexible, skilful, and very thoughtful when working around us in our home. High-grove Bathrooms (bathroom suppliers) were excellent as well, sorting out any issues we had efficiently and without fuss. After completion my eldest grandson was our first bathroom guest and said the bathroom made him think he was in a ‘Five Star Hotel!’ We love it and we’ve no hesitation in recommending the team from R+M and we’d be happy to have them back when our 2nd bathroom is due for a renovation.

We have just had our bathroom completely renovated by R&M Builders and Sons and I cannot recommend Rod and his wonderful team highly enough. Ten stars out of five.

It was a challenging reno, in a small 1950’s house built by my family, and the team treated our home with care and genuine interest for the project. An old sporting trophy of my father’s was discovered in an adjacent cupboard and the guys took care with it and asked me questions about my dad. That really touched me.

The attention to detail throughout the experience was extraordinary and so appreciated. The work of all the tradespeople was exceptional- such as the care they took ensuring the old window frame was preserved and the new additions were shaped to match the 1950’s carpentry. Rod has built a team of skilled artists who care about their work and the end result reflects this remarkable ethic.

The nature of the house created unforeseen challenges which were dealt with efficiently and with a high level of communication with us. At no point did we feel stressed or uncertain about the outcome or cost. The strong communication between company and client is something we were tremendously grateful for.

The genuine and caring nature of the team meant that it was a real joy to welcome them into our home every morning (messy hair, mismatched pj’s, busy mornings getting family ready for school and work included) and we are honestly quite sad to see them go. Their happiness in working with each other draws you in, and we were made to feel a part of the enterprise rather than being awkward onlookers, which was so lovely as first-time renovators who knew absolutely nothing.

We now have the bathroom of our dreams. It is elegant, exquisitely detailed, and more than I think my parents could have imagined was possible in such a small space. I wish they could see it.

This is a bathroom to last us for the rest of our lives.

Rod and his team completed a total Californian Bungalow bathroom renovation for me in central Albury in Jan 2022. I was very happy with the final outcome and the job was finished on time give or take a couple of days. After 2 false starts with builders not turning up to start our job after agreeing to do the work, we were fortunate come across R&M Builders.

Rob presented in a timely manner to quote the work and presented professionally with a quote following promptly. We required the work be completed prior to Easter and this was done even with the extra work that was required with crews onsite working continuously every week day until it was completed (no disappearing workers and lost days).

Rod’s team are all professional and extremely courteous with very positive attitudes.

We had been thinking of renovating our ensuite for a while but really didn’t know where to start. I was walking the dogs and there was a sign out the front of a house. R and M builders. I took a photo of it and showed hubby when I got home. Let’s ring them. 5 weeks later they started our ensuite. The hardest part about the renovation was picking out tiles and tap wear. Rod and his team were brilliant. There workmanship was next level. The crew were always so friendly and nothing was to much trouble. We decided in 2020 to update our tired 1990s bathrooms. We went looking at tiles and the shop assistant asked who was doing our tiling. We had no one. I thought I would just choose my tiles and the tradesperson would do what I wanted. The assistant said No not all tilers will agree to lay such big floor tiles. You had better get your trades sorted first. We contacted R+M builders. Rod came out and could not have been more helpful when quoting. He said you get what you like and we will get it done.

During the reno process they kept us informed at every stage and cleaned up after themselves. This was a big plus for us. The team were fantastic and happily adjusted, as the job moved forward. Our recently renovated home was a long time coming as we had heard a lot of horror stories about renovations gone wrong and dodgy builders – thankfully thanks to Rod & his Team this was NOT one of them.

Right from the start Rod was upfront with everything and went out of his way to explain any detail whenever I rang up to ask the dumb question (and I did a lot).

Apart from the fantastic job they did with the build and the quality, it is the little things that they did that helped to make the whole experience less painful, like getting Matty our friendly and best ever foreman to disassemble our beds when we moved out as I couldn’t get the bolts out (turns out I was trying to unscrew the wrong ones) or playing removalists and moving furniture around or ensuring that a buried pet was not disturbed during the excavation. There are many other examples too numerous to name that were all done, nothing was too hard.

Of course there were some hiccups but they were handed quickly and professionally by Rod & his Team to everyone’s complete satisfaction.

Our renovation was completed two months ahead of schedule which ended up saving us two months’ rent – a big plus for our budget.

A special thanks to Mandy, Roselle & Rees who operate a well-run professional and personal customer centric engine room that allowed Rod and his team of builders to focus on what they do best – BUILD.

It is not often that you can honestly recommend a builder but in this case we most whole heartedly do.

We are now at the end of the build and I just wanted to express our thanks for the work your Team has put in to our renovation.

You have of course turned the plans we had into reality and helped us achieve a much better home than we had before. All our family and friends are amazed at the transformation and in such a short time. The schedule you prepared at the start of the job and the expected completion date were exactly right. We are thrilled with the end result and our home looks fantastic. We have a pool, a level garden for our 4 young children to play in safely, a 2 car garage, a roof-top deck and, my kitchen is a thing of great beauty and all this in Annandale. I am a very happy woman!

We lived on site for all bar 3 1/2 weeks and had ample opportunities to watch the progress and see your team at work. Your Team on site was wonderful, your foreman Mark was at all times, professional, courteous, hard working, involved and fair. All the trades and sub contractors on site worked well together, there was a good line of communication and I never witnessed a single dispute and I was there for most of it. Living on site had its challenges, but Mark and the rest of your team was not one of them.

The Office Team was great also, from the very beginning of the tender process, Rees and Roselle were in frequent contact and once the project started, they continued their involvement. Now that we are nearing the end of all works, Rees has continued to help where he can, providing advice and suggestions in relation to the painters and final details with the pool. I cannot praise his involvement enough.

You are very lucky with your personnel. I have already recommended you to my friends and I will again. If I ever need to renovate again, which I hope I won’t, I will certainly contact your team first.

This time it was a demolition of an old terrace in Alexandria and rebuilding a 3-storey terrace from scratch. We are again extremely happy with the results.

Our site was a difficult one due to the amount of sand that had to be removed and the fact that the ground also had to be stabilised before construction could commence. You undertook the job with competence and professionalism and you also dealt with our many questions with great patience. The placement of the concrete piers was our main concern as they had to virtually hold our house up, but the work was carried out without stress or technical hitches. Most importantly for us being inexperienced renovators you and your workers arrived when you said you would and the job was completed on time.This is most unusual in the building industry in Sydney.

In 2006 I went to select tender to develop a new three storey terrace house in Woollahra. My Structural Engineer recommended I invite R and M builders to tender. Their tender price was very competitive and they won the project. I developed a very successful working relationship with Rod, Mandy and their team right from the beginning. They are professional, friendly, helpful, honest and full of good ideas. They also developed a very good relationship with the Council who were the PCA and the neighbours. My family was very happy with the final result and the high quality of the finishes. The project came in on time and to budget. In September, 2010 I commenced a major refurbishment of a large eight bedroom, five bathroom residences in Bellevue Hill. I went straight to R and M builders to develop this property for us since I was so happy with the outcome of our first project together. This job is a cost plus contract and Rod and his team are making innovative suggestions to improve the design and save us money. Their attention to detail is excellent and they take great pride in their workmanship. They have a wonderful passion for building the best that they can and the mood on site is very positive.
